Access Whatsapp, Viber and Skype in Morocco

Recently, the three main telecom providers in Morocco (Maroc Telecom, Meditel and Inwi), blocked all apps that allow free mobile internet calls, such as Whatsapp, Skype, Viber and Facebook (all VoIP apps). As a result, people are no longer able to call their friends and family through these apps for free, and are forced to either make expensive calls over the phone or simply cut down their contact with loved ones. However, there is an easy, free solution for all users to get back on their normal routine without having to pay these telecom companies a cent more: Unlock these apps with Hotspot Shield.

What is Hotspot Shield?

Hotspot Shield is a free tool that helps you achieve three very useful goals:

  • It helps you bypass any app or content blocks in your country, thus giving you full access to online content
  • It protects you from any hackers and snoopers online
  • It keeps your presence on the internet private and anonymous

With over 400 million downloads worldwide, it is one of the most trusted and popular apps of its kind in the market. By simply downloading it on your device and turning it on, you can immediately use Whatsapp, Viber and Skype in Morocco and start calling your loved ones again.

Step-by-step Guide to Accessing Your Favorite Apps

I am a Canadian who lives in Morocco. Previous to the block that the government of Morocco placed on Skype, I regularly used it to Video Chat with my children in Canada. After having installed Hotspot Shield, I am able to resume doing that with no difficulty.

Your product works! I found it to be easily installed and used. I connect it when I want to use Skype and disconnect it when I’m finished.

With the Elite version, one can select which country they want to be identified as being in, while with the free version the default is United States. That’s fine with me.

I have given a link to this website to my internet service provider to be shared with other customers in my town.

Hi Amine, To answer your question: no, the person you wish to have a video call with does not need to have Hotspot Shield to receive the call. Hotspot Shield lets users unblock apps, websites while protecting their privacy and ensuring their connection is secure at all time. So you may recommend it to your friend or the person you’re trying to reach out only if he/she is being banned from accessing his/her favorite apps or he/she wants additional privacy and protection while connected to the Internet.

You may use our basic free Hotspot Shield version (sponsored by ads) or opt for our Elite (premium) version and get rid of ads and unlock additional features. If you have any question, feel free to email us at, we’ll be happy to help!

Thanks! Levent from the Hotspot Shield Team
