What are the other international sites that are blocked in USA that we could access using Hotspot Shield? Any ideas?

Also, do Elite members reach bandwidth limit quickly by accessing cricket? Not sure if Elite members have bandwidth limitation in the first place. I did get that message stating that I have reached bandwith limit at times though I am Elite member

Hi Ramesh, Please find below answers to your questions:

*What are the other international sites that are blocked in USA that we could access using Hotspot Shield? Any ideas?
=> Here are a few examples: Netflix (access e.g. UK, German, French TV shows/movies offer), ITV, BBC iplayer, Adult sites, score cheaper airfare while changing your virtual location.

*do Elite members reach bandwidth limit quickly by accessing cricket?
=> Elite members have unlimited bandwidth so the issue might come from the fact that you are not logged in into your Elite account. Learn more via our help desk:

I wonder if StarSports is blocking streaming to HS IP addresses. I watched several matches, but now get a message saying “This service is temporarily unavailable.” Any clues here? Is there a workaround?

      Levent Sapci March 20, 2015 at 12:41 pm #

Hi Geoffrey, For the ICC final stages made the live stream of games paid on its platform. So you must have a subscription to watch the live stream of games, which was available at 120 Rs (about 1.9 US dollars), now their “ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Web Only pass” is worth 1200 Indian Rupee (about 20 US dollars). They must have increased the price because of a high viewership. Hope this Helps!

      • Balaji March 20, 2015 at 7:33 pm #

is it Rs.1200 now? I don’t see Rs.120 option any longer

        • Levent Sapci
          Levent Sapci March 23, 2015 at 12:06 pm #

Hi Balaji, sorry we corrected the price in the post, we just checked and it does cost now 1200 Indian Rupee (about 20 US dollars) for “ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Web Only Pass”.

  28. Ramesh March 22, 2015 at 4:54 pm #

    Hi Levent Sapci,

It is actually Rs.1200(US $20) not Rs.120($US 2) as you mentioned in your post

Hi Ramesh, Thank you for pointing this out. I just updated the post with the correct amount. The “ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Web Only Pass” by costs indeed 1200 INR that is to say about 20 US dollars. They must have increased the price because of a high viewership.

  29. Kiran March 25, 2015 at 10:29 pm #

I am using HS Shield elite from the US.
When I select virtual location as India, star sports website seem to detect that I am not in India. But when I subscribed to the “ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Web Only Pass” , I am able to see the world cup.
Also, when I type in in my browser, google seems to think I am in uae and goes to Any idea why that is happening?

    • Levent Sapci
      Levent Sapci March 26, 2015 at 3:30 pm #

      Hi Kiran, Hello,

      1. Glad the streaming is working for you now.

      2. redirection:

Due to the fact that large number of our users are located in the middle east Google IP resolvers will map certain IPs to a wrong physical location in the middle east. This is a bit hard to explain thus let me try to give you an example.

      For example:
      – A user in middle east on his device has HSS active, he has an IP of
      – He also has Google Maps service active on his device which will show his actual location from the settles
      – The information that IP address of is located in the middle east will then be sent and captured by Google
      – If the IP above will be linked enough number of times to the same location by Google services, then Google will think that that IP actually belongs to that location.
      – Thus when you turn on HSS and get the same IP address of you are being redirected by Google to because he thinks that IP belongs to UAE region.

There is nothing that we can do to permanently fix this issue at this time. However, as a workaround, please go to (it means no country redirect) and select “use” next time if browser will ask you about it.
